To begin, we would like to provide an overview of our shipping process and what you will receive. Our baby boas are typically shipped in a 7"x7"x6" box insulated with 3/4" foam. Each package features directional arrows and "LIVE HARMLESS REPTILE" labels on all four sides to ensure safe handling. We exclusively ship on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for arrival on Wednesdays or Thursdays. By avoiding Mondays, we reduce the risk of delays caused by heavy FedEx volume.
Â
What to expect in the box:
Â
Inside your package, you will find your baby boa safely secured in a cloth snake bag that is tied, taped, and labeled (essential for orders containing multiple animals).
Â
Every shipment also includes a unique custom ID card from "The Pateryios Project." When available, we also include our custom stickers as a complimentary gift.
POST-UNBOXING GUIDELINES FOR YOUR BABY BOA:
Once your boa has arrived, please follow these professional care steps:
1. Conduct a thorough examination to ensure your new boa is healthy and active. If you notice any concerns, contact us immediately.
2. Place your boa into its new habitat as soon as the initial examination is concluded.
3. Allow your boa to rest undisturbed for 8 days. While this is challenging, it is vital for the animal to acclimate to its new environment and stabilize its body temperature after the fluctuations experienced during transit.
4. After 4 to 5 days, once the boa has adjusted, you may offer its first meal. Animals are fasted for one week prior to shipping to ensure their digestive tracts are empty, as shipping a reptile with an undigested meal can lead to dangerous regurgitation.
5. Once your boa has eaten, wait an additional 2 to 3 days before attempting to handle it.
6. Congratulations on reaching day 8 of the adjustment period. Now that your boa has regulated its temperature, minimized its stress levels, and successfully fed, you may begin handling and interacting with your new companion.
Â
We hope you enjoy your new baby boa.
